GOLDEN FLOWER (29,3x21 cms, mixed media on paper, 2020) by Paola Giordano belongs to the series “Metropolitan Flowers.” In 2024 it was exhibited in the solo exhibition METROPOLITAN FLOWERS, curated by art critic Marco Eugenio Di Giandomenico, at Ethicando Gallery in Milan.
“Paola Giordano expresses the existential malaise of contemporary society, the creator and victim of hyper-communication, no longer a vehicle of cultural and human content of social edification, but the very object of all human activity, bent on the frantic search for consensus (like/don't like), which become the only ephemeral thermometer of social recognition. Her metropolitan flowers, in philosopher Byung-Chul Han's society of transparency, emerge as if by magic from urban substrates almost devoid of humanity and charitable correspondence as a sign of hope and the victory of Beauty” (Marco Eugenio Di Giandomenico).
The sale is promoted by the international communications platform Betting On Italy (BOI).
