Solo exhibit ART IN CRIPTA by Elvino Motti

Sunday, July 6, 2025, 4-6 p.m., the solo exhibition entitled ART IN CRIPTA by Elvino Motti at the Crypt of St. Anthony in Gravedona ed Uniti (CO), with art curatorship by Marco Eugenio Di Giandomenico, opens.

The initiative, which runs through 2025, is sponsored by the Province of Como, the Municipality of Gravedona ed Uniti, the Municipality of Dongo, the Mountain Community of Lario and Ceresio Valleys, and the Villa Vigoni Association. It enjoys the promotion of the international communication platform Betting On Italy.

No. 8 light sculptures/installations by Elvino Motti are exhibited, "which dialogue admirably with the evocative spaces of the fourteenth-century crypt, almost making visible the spiritual yearnings consolidated in the centuries-old liturgical environments" (Marco Eugenio Di Giandomenico).

"In the quiet of this hallowed space, Elvino Motti’s installation offers flickers of light, reaching out to the carved Romanesque capitals and the frescoes of the fourteenth century. How could they not respond? For in the language of scripture, light is the first word ever spoken: and Christ, the Lumen Gentium, the light of the people" (Don Francesco Marinoni).

Fiorenzo Bongiasca (president of the Province of Como), Cesare Soldarelli (mayor of the municipality of Gravedona ed Uniti), Mauro Robba (mayor of the municipality of Dongo and president of the Comunità Montana Valli del Lario e del Ceresio), as well as various personalities from the world of culture and art are scheduled to participate.
